The rich mahogany hue of this 1995 Fine & Rare release from The Macallan is the result of decades of time spent maturing in a European oak hogshead cask. Distinct aromas of Medjool dates, rich dark cherries, and treacle are on the nose, along with hints of vanilla, chocolate, ginger, and antique oak. On the palate, crystallized ginger, cherries, licorice, and hazelnut give way to dried banana, dark chocolate, and sweet oak. The long finish is complemented with a hint of oak and licorice. Filled on December 1995 and bottled over 26 years later, this single cask is presented at its natural cask strength.
